Forensic 科学 Studies (Microcredential)

The seven-credit Forensic 科学 Studies microcredential is for those who want to explore a career as a forensic lab technician but who might not be ready to commit to the two-year Forensic 科学 associate degree.

学生s who complete the microcredential will gain an understanding of the basic principles of forensic science as they relate to criminal investigation. Some courses will transfer to the degree program.

Program Learning Outcomes

Upon the completion of this microcredential, students will be able to:

• Illustrate an understanding of the fundamental principles of crime lab analysis and develop critical thinking skills to apply these theories and methods.
• Collect and analyze various types of evidence through chemical and microscopic methods.
• Analyze the nature and purpose of criminal investigation; articulate the various methods of investigation, including the interview and interrogation of suspects, techniques of surveillance and specific investigative procedures; assess the constitutionality of investigative activities.
